OXFORD, Ohio – Junior catcher/outfielder Max Andresen (Granger, Ind./Penn) from the Miami University baseball team was placed on the Capital One Academic All-District Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced on Thursday.

Andresen carries a 3.62 grade-point average as a business economics and finance major. With 10 games left in the regular season, the junior ranks second on the RedHawks with a .310 batting average. Andresen’s 23 RBI are the fourth-most on the team and that total represents a new career high. The Granger, Ind., native has 12 multi-hit games and four multi-RBI outings. He was named the Mid-American Conference East Division’s Player of the Week on March 17.

This is the first time Andresen has earned Capital One Academic All-District honors in his career. He is eligible for the Capital One Academic All-America team, which will be revealed on May 30.

Andresen and the RedHawks begin their final home series of the season when they start a three-game set against Bowling Green on Friday.
