OXFORD, Ohio – Miami University women’s tennis senior Nimisha Mohan was named Mid-American Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week on Wednesday afternoon (April 23) for the second consecutive week. Mohan earned the honor after picking up two conference wins in No. 1 singles matches last weekend.

On Friday, Mohan won against her Western Michigan opponent at No. 1, 6-4, 7-5. The RedHawk senior returned on Saturday for a 6-2, 6-3 win against her No. 1 singles opponent from Bowling Green. Mohan finished the regular season with a 13-8 dual match record including a 5-3 clip in MAC play.

This is the third time this year that Mohan has won the MAC POW award, the first time coming for the week ending Feb. 16 and thee second time taking place last week.

Miami will host the MAC Women’s Tennis Tournament next weekend. Action begins at the Hepburn Varsity Tennis Courts at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 24 and will wrap up with the MAC Championship at noon on Sunday, April 26. The winner of the MAC Tournament receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
