Last Week: The RedHawks hosted the Sixth Annual Joe Nuxhall Classic at Hayden Park, advancing to the championship with a 14-9 win over Xavier (Recap) before dropping a 7-4 decision to Cincinnati. (Recap) Miami then traveled to rival Kent State and rallied from a 2-0 hole on Friday, before dropping a 4-2 decision on two unearned runs in the eighth. (Recap) On Saturday, the Golden Flashes scored in their first five innings to down the RedHawks 13-4. (Recap) Miami recovered in the series finale by getting 7.2 innings out of Ryan Powers and multi-hit games from Max Andresen, Dan Walsh and Scott Slappey to post a 6-4 victory. (Recap) Next Week: Miami resumes its road swing by played at Eastern Kentucky on Tuesday before facing Eastern Michigan for a three-game set over the weekend.


Last Week: The RedHawks went 1-3 on the road last week. Miami dropped a pair of games to Western Michigan on Friday. The RedHawks fell in the opener, 9-4. They then dropped a 4-0 decision in the nightcap. (Recap) The Red and White earned a split of its doubleheader with Northern Illinois on Saturday. The RedHawks dropped a 6-1 decision in the opener. Miami then earned a dramatic 8-5 win in eight innings in the nightcap. (Recap) This Week: Miami hits the road for non-conference doubleheader at Butler Tuesday beginning at 3 p.m. The RedHawks then host Ohio for a MAC doubleheader on Friday beginning at 1 p.m. Miami takes on Akron in single games Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.

Women’s Tennis

Last Week: Miami won both matches over the weekend to move to 5-1 in MAC play. Miami pulled out a 4-3 win at Eastern Michigan on Friday to hand the Eagles their first MAC loss of the season. (Recap) On Saturday, the RedHawks notched their second 7-0 win in MAC play when they blanked Toledo. (Recap) This Week: Miami returns home this weekend for a pair of MAC contests against Western Michigan on Friday and Bowling Green on Saturday. The Bowling Green match on Saturday, April 19 will be Senior Day at the Hepburn Varsity Tennis Courts. RedHawk seniors Nimisha Mohan and Christiana Raymond will be honored on the court before that match.

Men's Track and Field

Last Week: The Miami men's track and field team claimed third at the All-Ohio Championships. Matt Stewart's second-place finish in the 10,000m headlined a strong first day in Cincinnati, where seven different competitors scored points. (Recap) MU put together another solid performance on day two, getting a first-place finish from Peter Stefanski in the high jump among nine other top-three finishes. (RecapThis Week: Miami returns to the track for the two-day Bluegrass Classic in Lexington, Ky., which begins on Friday.

Women's Track and Field

Last Week: The RedHawks finished third at the All-Ohio Championships in Cincinnati over the weekend. Miami got points from Mattie Moncayo (10,000m), Lauren Hoover (3000m steeplechase) and Jasmine Watts (long jump) on day one of competition on Friday. (Recap) MU finished up its weekend with first-place finishes out of Tori Paterra in the javelin and Taylor Wickware in the 800m. Paterra's mark of 172-4 improved on her previous school record and moved up into eighth in the country in her event. (RecapThis Week: The RedHawks are splitting the team up by sending competitors to both the Jesse Owens Classic and the Mt. SAC Relays, beginning on Friday.


Last Week: Miami finished 14th among the 15-team field at the Robert Kepler Invitational Sunday. The RedHawks shot a final round of 303 to finish the tournament 68-over par with a final score of 920. (Recap) This Week: Miami participates in its final tournament before the MAC Championship when it takes part in the Boilermaker Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind. this weekend. The RedHawks will play two rounds on Saturday before finishing the event with one final round of 18 holes on Sunday.

Miami University recently awarded volleyball head coach Carolyn Condit the 2014 Kathy McMahon Klosterman Award at the inaugural Women in Leadership Symposium. Associate Athletic Director and Senior Women’s Administrator Jennie Gilbert presented the award to Condit. (Release)
