TOLEDO, Ohio – In its second Mid-American Conference tennis match in as many days, Miami (13-6, 5-1 MAC) defeated Toledo, 7-0 on Saturday afternoon for their second conference win of the weekend.
In doubles action, Miami captured two of the three matches and secured the doubles point. Playing at No. 2, senior Nimisha Mohan and freshman Andreea Badileanu won, 8-3 while senior Christiana Raymond and junior Ramona Costea won, 8-6 while competing at No. 3.
Miami did not lose any sets in singles action, securing a clean sweep top to bottom. At No. 1 singles, Mohan won 6-2, 6-0 while Badileanu won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 and Raymond won 6-1, 6-1 in her No. 3 match. Playing at No. 4 singles, junior Alix Thurman trumped her UT opponent, 6-4, 6-1 while junior Christine Guerrazzi emerged victorious at No. 5, 6-1, 6-2. Sophomore Ana Rajkovic won at No. 6 singles, 6-4, 6-2.
Miami returns home next weekend for a pair of MAC contests against Western Michigan and Bowling Green. The Bowling Green match on Saturday, April 19 will be Senior Day at the Hepburn Varsity Tennis Courts. RedHawk seniors Nimisha Mohan and Christiana Raymond will be honored on the court before that match.
