COLUMBUS, Ohio -The Miami men’s golf team will be participating in the 2014 Robert Kepler Intercollegiate tournament this coming weekend. This two-day tournament will take place at Scarlet Course, which measures 7,455 yards and is par-71. The tournament is hosted by the Ohio State Buckeyes.
"We've traveled to some great places around the southeastern part of the country this spring, but it's great to be back in the Midwest and only a couple of hours from Oxford,” said coach Zac Zedrick. “Ohio State Golf Club has hosted NCAA Regionals and the NCAA Championship in the past, so it will provide the kind of test we're looking for this late in the season.”
Representing the RedHawks at this weekend’s tournament will be sophomores Jack Sparling and Bud Radis, juniors Scott Cahill and Brantley Kushner, and senior Mark MacDonald. Freshman Greg Conrad will also be playing the tournament but as an individual. Miami is part of a 15-team field that includes Ball State, Cleveland State, Eastern Michigan, Georgia Tech, Kent State, Liberty, Missouri, Northwestern, Ohio State, Oregon State, Penn State, UAB, UNC Charlotte and UNLV.
“Although it will be a great field, too, it's important that we continue to just focus on ourselves,” said Zedrick. “If we play the kind of golf we're capable of, then we'll be in good shape."
