OXFORD, Ohio – Hitting the road for another weekend of Mid-American Conference matches, the Miami University women’s tennis team makes visits to Eastern Michigan and Toledo. Miami meets Eastern Michigan at 1 p.m. Friday and then travels to Toledo for a 1 p.m. match on Saturday.
Last weekend, Miami (11-6, 3-1 MAC) split their pair of MAC matches. Friday afternoon, Buffalo downed the RedHawks, 5-2 but Miami bounced back for a clean 7-0 sweep of Akron on Saturday. Miami boasts a 63-35 record in match singles play this season while posting a 24-22 mark on the doubles court in that time. Freshman Andreea Badileanu leads the team with a 13-3 singles mark and is one of four RedHawks with double-digit wins this season. Other Miami players with double-digit wins include junior Ramona Costea (10-6), sophomore Ana Rajkovic (12-4) and senior Christiana Raymond (10-6).
Eastern Michigan (12-6, 5-0 MAC) enters the weekend riding a six-match win streak dating back to March 7. In that span, the Eagles have racked up a perfect 5-0 record in MAC action. EMU individuals have combined for a 66-42 singles record in match play in addition to a 32-21 doubles mark.
Toledo (12-5, 3-2 MAC) welcomes the RedHawks on Saturday afternoon and will take on Ball State the previous day. The Rockets own a 62-40 singles record in match play this season while tallying a 31-19 showing on the doubles court.
Miami returns home next weekend for a pair of MAC contests against Western Michigan and Bowling Green. The Bowling Green match on Saturday, April 19 will be Senior Day at the Hepburn Varsity Tennis Courts. RedHawk seniors Nimisha Mohan and Christiana Raymond will be honored on the court before that match.
