OXFORD, Ohio – In a match that came down to the wire, Miami fell to Louisville on Sunday afternoon, 4-3. The loss snapped the RedHawks’ three match win-streak and brought their overall record to 11-4 on the season.

In doubles action, Miami (11-4, 2-0 MAC) fell at No. 1 but evened it up with an 8-3 victory at No. 3 doubles from senior Christiana Raymond and junior Ramona Costea. With the doubles point on the line, Miami’s No. 2 tandem of senior Nimisha Mohan and freshman Andreea Badileanu produced a tiebreak victory, 8-7 (7-4) to clinch the doubles point.

In singles action, Miami had a series of close matches but ultimately dropped their first four to Louisville (11-3, 2-1 AAC) at No. 2, 3, 4 and 5 singles to give the Cardinals the match victory. Although the match had already been decided, Miami was able to get victories at No. 1 from Mohan, 1-6, 7-5, 7-5 and at No. 6 from sophomore Ana Rajkovic, 6-4, 3-6, 6-1.

Miami returns to the court next week when they travel to Buffalo on Friday, April 4 for a Mid-American Conference matchup. The RedHawks return the next day to face Akron in another road MAC competition.
