NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Miami University women’s track and field team finished day one of the Vanderbilt Black & Gold Invitational, competing in two of the six events. The meet is hosted by Vanderbilt University at its sports complex, with action resuming tomorrow morning.

Sophomore Laura Bess had Miami’s strongest finish of the day, placing fifth in the 1500m invitational run in 4:27.53. In field action, junior Adaora Anunike took 16th in the hammer throw with a mark of 46.67m, while sophomore Amelia Strickler finished in 18th with a heave of 42.47m.

The meet continues tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. ET with the discus throw, followed by the javelin, high jump, long jump, and pole vault at 12 p.m. Track action begins at 12:30 p.m., with the meet concluding at 6:20 p.m. with the 4x400m relay. Live results for tomorrow’s events can be found here.
