WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Miami University’s golf team returns to action Sunday when it participates in the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate tournament. This three-day tournament will take place at the River Course at Kingsmill, which is a par-70 and 6,765 yard design.
"I think the fact that we'll be competing on back-to-back weeks is a good thing for us right now,” said coach Zac Zedrick. “The experience from Talis Park is still fresh and the guys are eager to get back after it pretty quickly. We got a lot better and learned a lot while we were down there.”
Playing for the RedHawks at this week’s tournament will be sophomores Jack Sparling and Bud Radis, juniors Scott Cahill and Brantley Kushner, and senior Mark MacDonald. They are part of a large 27-team field that includes Appalachian State, Binghamton, Boston College, Bucknell, Dayton, Delaware, Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Michigan, Fairleigh Dickinson, George Mason, Georgetown, IPFW, James Madison, Longwood, Loyola (Ill.), Loyola (Md.), Penn State, Radford, Rutgers, St. Joseph’s, Temple, Texas Tech, Towson, UNC Greensboro, William & Mary and Wright State.
“Kingsmill hosted a PGA Tour event for many years, so this will be another great competitive experience for our team, especially with such a large field with a lot of good teams," said coach Zedrick.
