NAPLES, Fla. – The Miami men’s golf team will be participating in the Tails Park Challenge tournament this coming Sunday and Monday. This two-day tournament will take place at Talis Park Golf Club with a par 72-7,025 yard design and will feature 54 holes, with 36 holes being played Sunday and the final 18 holes scheduled for Monday.

"I think the guys are pretty fired up to have another opportunity to compete again,” said Coach Zac Zedrick. “A lot of positives came from Colleton River, but I think they left with a bad taste in their mouth and want to keep building toward April and May. We were also fortunate to get outside for a handful of days last week and early this past week, so they're very comfortable taking what they've been developing inside out onto the golf course.”

Playing for the RedHawks this tournament will be freshman Jared Hammons, sophomore Jack Sparling, junior Scott Cahill and seniors Mark MacDonald and Austin Kelly. They are part of a 14-team field that includes Austin Peay, Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan, Florida Gulf Coast, Indiana, Notre Dame, Toledo, Vanderbilt, Wichita State, Xavier and the host of the tournament, Ball State.

“Talis Park is a really good golf course and the field is also pretty good,” said Zedrick. “It will be exciting to see how we perform this weekend."
