COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Blake Coleman’s (Plano, Texas/Indiana (USHL)) big weekend for the Miami hockey team caught the attention of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference on Monday.
Coleman was named the NCHC Player of the Week after netting all four of the RedHawks’ goals in their final series at Denver last weekend. He opened the series by scoring twice, tying the score at 1-1 in the first period and pulling MU within 3-2 at the end of the second. He kept things going the next night, opening the scoring in the second period before tallying the game-winning goal 7:33 into the third period.
Since returning to the lineup on Feb. 21, Coleman has eight goals in six games. The junior has netted eight of MU’s last 10 goals, including five straight.
The RedHawks open up the NCHC Tournament with a best-of-three series at No. 4/4 St. Cloud State on Friday.
