OXFORD, Ohio Capping off a three-match road trip, the Miami University women’s tennis team travels to Eastern Kentucky for a 1 p.m. match on Saturday. Miami (5-2, 0-0 MAC) looks to build off their 4-1 victory last weekend over No. 75 SMU.

Last weekend, the RedHawks split their matches against two nationally ranked opponents. Saturday afternoon, the Red and White fell to No. 63 North Texas, 4-1 but rebounded for a 4-1 victory over No. 75 SMU.

Through seven dual matches, the RedHawks have compiled an impressive 25-13 record in singles play while going 8-11 in doubles competition. Freshman Andreea Badileanu leads the team with a 6-1 record in singles action, spending time at No. 2 and No. 3 singles. In doubles play, Miami has gotten strong performances out of their No. 3 slot with senior Christiana Raymond and junior Ramona Costea holding a 4-2 doubles record.

Eastern Kentucky (3-4, 0-0 OVC) enters the weekend coming off three consecutive losses to Xavier, Eastern Tennessee State and No. 38 Kentucky. The Colonels have combined for a 19-20 singles record as well as a 9-9 doubles record through their first seven matches of the season. Junior Kristina Labeja has been EKU’s most consistent player, notching a 5-1 record at No. 2 singles play.

Miami is off next weekend before returning home to face Marshall on Sunday, Mar. 2 at 10 a.m.
