OXFORD, Ohio—Highlighting the word “student” in student-athlete, Miami University Athletics will recognize its nearly 350 student-athletes who achieved a 3.0 grade-point average or higher during the fall 2013 semester at halftime of the RedHawk men’s basketball game versus Buffalo on Wednesday, Feb. 12, which tips off at 7 p.m.

All 18 of Miami’s athletic teams had individuals earn 3.0 GPAs or better.

Overall, 66 percent of the 522 RedHawks finished with a GPA of 3.0 or higher with 33 achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA. Miami had 16 of 18 teams (five men’s and 11 women’s teams) finish with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. Overall, six teams finished with a GPA higher than 3.30: women’s cross country (3.66), women’s soccer (3.57), field hockey (3.44), women’s swimming & diving (3.42) and men’s cross country (3.35).

RedHawk student-athletes matched an all-time high single-semester cumulative GPA of 3.23, equaling a mark achieved during the spring 2013 semester.
