In the final competitions for the Miami University synchronized skating program before the U.S. National Championships, the RedHawk senior and collegiate teams take to the ice this weekend at two separate events. Both teams were last in action two weekends ago at the Mid-America Championships.

Miami’s senior team represents the United States in international competition when the RedHawks compete at the Mozart Cup in Salzburg, Austria, Jan. 24-25. This is the first time Miami’s senior team is competing at the Mozart Cup. In their last event, the RedHawks finished second in both the short program and free skate event at the Mid-America Championships. Miami skates is short program to the music “Let It Be,” and its free skate program is themed “Cards.”

Miami’s collegiate team is coming off a first-place finish at the Mid-American Championships where it bested its nearest competitor by over 13 points. In the six times the collegiate team has competed at the Midwestern Championships, Miami has posted first-place finishes each time. The RedHawks’ competitive program is themed “Moments.”
