OXFORD, Ohio –Miami University head women’s basketball coach Cleve Wright announced the signing of guard Kindsay Brandt (Cincinnati, Ohio/Lakota West/Cincinnati State) to a National Letter of Intent on Tuesday. Brandt will begin play for the RedHawks during the 2013-14 season and will have junior eligibility.

Brandt, a 5-8 guard, spent the past season at Cincinnati State. While there she averaged 12 points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals in 38 minutes of action per game. She led the Surge to a 25-7 record and was named Ohio Community College Athletic Conference Player of the Week in January. She came to Cincinnati State after playing her first season at Santa Fe College in Florida in 2011.

Brandt was a four-year letterwinner at Lakota West High School, graduating in 2010. She helped lead the Firebirds to a state championship game in 2008 and a final four appearance in 2009. As a senior in 2010, she was selected to the Ohio-Kentucky All-Star Game, was named First-Team All-Butler County and First-Team All-Greater Miami Conference.

Brandt is the fourth new player joining Miami next season. She joins incoming freshmen Nicole Anderson (Terre Haute, Ind./Terre Haute North), Jillian Spurlock (Hamilton, Ohio/Hamilton) and Rachel Goddard (Wadsworth, Ohio/Wadsworth).
