BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Miami University men's golf team returns to action this weekend when it participates in the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate. The tournament takes place at the Weibring Golf Club in Bloomington, Ill. The RedHawks will play 36 holes on Saturday and finish the event with one final round of 18 holes on Sunday.

Representing Miami this week will be senior Ben Peacock, redshirt junior Mark MacDonald and sophomore Scott Cahill. They will be joined in the lineup for the first time by two freshmen making their RedHawk debuts in Jack Sparling and Daniel Schwarz.

"This week is a tremendous opportunity for us to prove that we learned from the challenges we faced last weekend at Wolf Run," said head coach Zac Zedrick. "We also have two freshmen in the lineup who have competed well at home over the last two weekends and have earned the opportunity to travel. I'm excited to see them both gain some valuable competitive experience so early in their careers."

Miami will be one of 15 teams competing at the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate. Joining the Red and White will be Mid-American Conference rival Northern Illinois. In addition to host Illinois State, also participating are Bradley, Central Arkansas, Detroit, Illinois, Loyola, Missouri State, Nebraska, Northern Iowa, Southern Illinois, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville Western Illinois and Wisconsin.

After competing in the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate, the RedHawks will next be in action at the Firestone Invitational, Oct. 8-9.
