2012: Appeared in all but one game this season, starting five of the last seven ... led all Miami freshman with 40 tackles ... registered three tackles in the RedHawks' upset victory over Ohio ... had a season-high eight tackles against Cincinnati ... had three stops in the season opener at Ohio State in his collegiate debut.

SCOUTING REPORT: The RedHawks’ tallest defensive back will try to gain playing time as a freshman.

HIGH SCHOOL: First-team all-region and second-team All-Middle Georgia for Coach Lee Campbell’s Crisp County Cougars … he intercepted 11 passes in three letter-winning seasons … the Cougar basketball team made it to Georgia’s Sweet Sixteen as Taylor starred at forward.

PERSONAL: Musically inclined, he plays the drums, baritone and tuba … his father, Marshall Taylor Sr. played football at Georgia Southwestern State University; his cousin was an athlete at Georgia; and his aunt was an athlete at Valdosta State … the son of Marshall Taylor Sr. and Rosie Howard.
